ORDERING

You can place an order quickly and easily through our secure online shopping cart. You may order online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

All the jewelry is handmade to order and may vary slightly from the photo.

When will my order ship?

All jewelry is made-to-order and will ship within 2-5 days of your completed purchase; this includes orders with express shipping. If you need to expedite the process, please contact us first to arrange and confirm.

Any orders placed during closures (which will be clearly stated on the shop main page) will begin shipping by the date indicated.

How is the jewelry packaged?

All the jewelry is packaged securely in a cotton-filled gift box tied with a ribbon, ready for giving or keeping.packaging200px.jpg

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Yes! We would be delighted to gift-wrap your order.  Before adding the item to your shopping basket please tick the Gift-wrap box.  Gift-wrap is $5 per piece and must be added to each item individually.  With multi-item purchases only the items marked "Gift-wrap" will be wrapped with a beautiful paper and tied with a ribbon.  All items are shipped "gift-ready" but the wrapping adds an extra special touch. 

Can I change my order?

If you need to make any changes to your order please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to make any changes for you. Orders may not be changed after they have been shipped.

 

PAYMENT

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover through our secure online processor Authorize.net. You may also pay using any major credit card or E-Check through PayPal.

Do you charge sales tax?

Orders shipped within New York State are subject to 8.875% sales tax.

Why was my payment declined?

Payments may be declined for a number of reasons. Often this occurs when the billing information in your account is not up to date. Contact your credit card company to update any old information and try placing the order again. If the problem continues, try entering the details from a different card. If you are still encountering problems please contact us.

Payment Validation on International Orders

If you are trying to place an International order and you are receiving an error please make sure that your billing, shipping and credit card information all match. For security reasons payment with credit/debit card may sometimes only be accepted when the shipping address and billing information are the same. If you prefer to ship to a different address consider using PayPal as your payment option.

How will my order be shipped?

All orders are shipped using USPS via your selected method at checkout. Insurance may be added on domestic parcels at an additonal cost.

Notes on International Shipping:

All international orders are shipped with U-Pic Parcel Insurance. Please read on for more information.

USPS First Class International: This is the most economical method of shipping internationally but does not provide tracking of the package. Package is insured at full value with U-Pic Parcel Insurance and is limited to their restrictions (contact us with any questions). While almost all packages arrive safe and sound, we cannot be responsible for lost packages. A lost package claim may not be filed until 60 days have passed. International shipping has been known to take up to six weeks to arrive. Any customs fees that may occur at the time of delivery would be at the discretion of your country's tax regulations. Almost all packages arrive free of additional charges, but for more information please contact your local customs agency. This is not information available as the shipper and we have no way of knowing if these fees will even occur and therefore are not responsible for those charges. Returns will not be accepted due to customs fees.

USPS Priority Mail: This option is often faster and more secure than First Class but does not provide tracking. Package is insured for full value, details noted above.

USPS Express Mail: The fastest way to receive your order internationally with estimated delivery in 3-6 days. Insurance included up to $300.

When will I know my order has shipped?

You will receive a confirmation email when your order has shipped. You may also check the status of your order at anytime by logging in to your account and clicking the Order Status link at the top of the page.

Why did I not receive my order?

Please make sure you have provided the correct shipping address. It is the buyer’s responsibility to submit a correct address. If you notice an error in the information submitted please contact us immediately to correct the mistake. If your order has already been shipped we cannot be held responsible if the item is stolen, damaged or lost. If the delivery confirmation states that the package was delivered to the address given but no item was received, it is the buyer’s responsibility to take the matter up with the local USPS. No refunds of any kind will be given to packages that were delivered to the customer but not received.

If this is an international order please contact us after 60 days, but prior to 80, to begin the process of filing an insurance claim.

 

Returns/Exchanges

Returns are not currently available on the jewelry at this time. If the return request is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.) your return shipping charges will be reimbursed and the new piece will be sent immediately upon receipt of the incorrect or defective item. Items must be posted with 7 days of request.

Exchanges are available on all items with the exception of custom orders. Please contact us within 3 days of receiving your order if you wish to make an exchange. Items for exchange must be postmarked within 7 days of exchange confirmation. Buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs.

If you would like to submit a request for an exchange or return on incorrect merchandise received please contact us at shop@LaurenHaupt.com. We'll notify you as soon as possible, typically within 48 hours, via e-mail once your request has been received and will provide you with the return shipping address as confirmation.

All sale items are final sale.

 

JEWELRY CARE

What is oxidized sterling silver?

Oxidization is a controlled tarnish on the metal done by a process where sterling silver is dipped in a liquid solution that darkens the color of the metal resulting in a dark grey-black finish. It is not a permanent finish and, like tarnish, will change over time resulting in an aged, antiqued feel.

What is 14k gold fill?

A wonderfully affordable alternative to solid gold, 14k gold fill has a solid layer of 14k gold bonded to the outside of a base metal. Unlike a plated metal that may chip or peel because the gold has simply been adhered to the base metal, the gold layer on 14k gold fill has been applied in a much thicker layer with strong heat and pressure. With proper care and occasional cleaning 14k gold fill may last for many years.

How should I care for my jewelry?

All sterling silver is made from quality 925 sterling silver and may tarnish over time depending on air, perfumes, skin acidity, and many other environmental factors. Sterling silver may be polished to restore its shine. The same follows for all 14k gold-filled elements.

Oxidized sterling silver is done by hand and may result in subtle differences of tone and color - it is not a black coating on the silver. The blackened color will fade and change over time creating an aged look.

To sustain the look of your new jewelry avoid wearing pieces while sleeping, showering, swimming, etc. Store the jewelry, clean and dry, in a jewelry box or original packaging when not wearing.

Do you repair the jewelry?

Every piece of Lauren Haupt Jewelry is made by hand and requires gentle handling.

We are confident in the quality of our jewelry and want you to be as well but sometimes accidents happen or natural materials just break! Please contact shop@LaurenHaupt.com regarding all repairs prior to returning the jewelry. Please include your name, purchase date, a brief description of the problem and photograph if possible. Lauren Haupt Jewelry offers complimentary repairs on any defective item purchased from www.LaurenHaupt.com for one year after purchase. One complimentary re-oxidation of your piece is also available within the first year. For repairs/re-oxidation on items over one year old or accidently broken in the wearer’s error a minimum fee of $15 will be assessed, plus shipping costs. Payment will be collected once the jewelry is received for repair and prior to the return. Any delay in payment will delay the repair and return process, typically a 2-3 week turnaround.

If you purchased the jewelry at a retail location you must provide your original receipt as proof of the date of purchase. If you do not have your receipt the minimum fee of $15 will be applied.

 

MISCELLANEOUS

I lost an earring, can I order just one?

If you lose an earring we will be happy to replace the missing earring for 1/2 of the items cost plus shipping. In some circumstances returning the remaining earring may be necessary to properly match the earring being replaced.

Lauren Haupt Jewelry is committed to providing a secure online shopping experience. Access to your personal information is restricted to those who are directly in charge of fulfilling your order. We do not sell, share, rent or release any of your personal information to a third party.

Based on your selection, payment is processed securely with PayPal or Authorize.net and we do not have access to your credit card information.

If necessary, Lauren Haupt Jewelry may use your email (by phone if no email response is received) to communicate with you regarding the fulfillment of your current order. We may retain details of your product purchases with us to help serve you better in the future.

We do use cookies to store information, such as your personal preferences when you visit our site. This could include saving your shopping cart information for a future visit or remembering your login status.

Occasionally we send out promotional emails to those who have opted in to our mailing list. Every email contains an option to unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time.

We never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All credit card information utilizes state-of-the-art Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology and is SET compliant.

You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by visiting the My Account section of our website. You may log in to your account and view or modify your saved information. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information.

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error.

To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
