About
Lauren Haupt started making jewelry to fill a void she was finding in her jewelry box. No matter where she shopped she just couldn’t find earrings and necklaces that were simple yet interesting; pieces with clean lines that didn’t clutter her outfit but were still able to provide that extra special detail; jewelry that would be comfortable to wear everyday and could make that tricky transition from the day’s casual-tee to the night’s celebration-heels. Unable to find pieces that encompass those ideals, she decided to create jewelry that would. Luckily, she also decided to share it with the rest of us, and Lauren Haupt Jewelry was born.
Before taking classes in metals and jewelry construction Lauren studied furniture design; two design paths she feels share many similarities. The influences of both can be found in her jewelry collection today. Each discipline requires an acute attention to detail and structure, but, more importantly, a focus on form and function. Learning the principle of form following function inspires the shape and structure of every new jewelry piece Lauren designs. When creating each new piece, Lauren knows that it is important for the jewelry to not only be beautiful but also comfortable, unfussy, and feel fantastic to wear.
Lauren believes jewelry is everyone’s opportunity to add details to their exterior in order to express their inner, personal style. Whether deciding to add one piece for subtle charm or layer them for an edgier expression, Lauren Haupt Jewelry is privileged to be a part of her customer’s everyday style.
All jewelry is handmade with great care in Lauren Haupt’s New York City studio.
